Jeanine Thomson, CPM: Treasurer

Jeanine Thomson is the project management coordinator for the Division of Information Technology at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. One of her responsibilities in this position is to serve as the primary IT support for Animal Control, making her familiar with software for shelters and the vet community.

She and her husband have been fostering golden retrievers for four years. She has been an approved handler for Therapy Dogs Inc. for three years and has served as a tester/observer for Therapy Dogs Inc. for the past two years. She also works closely with dog trainers to aid in the rehabilitation of foster dogs.

In addition to all of her volunteer work, Jeanine is also the owner of four therapy dogs, all of whom have earned their Canine Good Citizen titles. Jeanine and her husband make weekly visits to nursing homes, hospitals, children’s programs and reading programs. She also trains and shows dogs in agility.
